We have had a very busy couple of weeks in Trillium, all leading up to our events on Friday. We were preparing our art work, learning and practicing our song, cleaning our classroom, preparing decorations for Grandparents day, and on it went. The students worked incredibly hard, which was evident in our museum on Friday. It was wonderful watching them share their work with their families and friends, and hearing the thought that went into each piece. Our room was full of supportive families, staff, and 8th grade buddies. Thank you all for attending and for showing such genuine interest in what the children had created. We were all on cloud 9 by the end of if!
Grandparents Day was a HUGE success, thanks especially to Kim Payne and K’yla Djoseland. They spent hours preparing and it showed. The gym was beautiful, the food was delicious and the entire event felt smooth and comfortable. That isn’t easy to do with so many people in a small space! Thank you to all of our families who helped with this event. I heard nothing but compliments about the day from staff and visitors.
Our upcoming week will be a short one before we break for the holiday. On Tuesday we’ll be cleaning out cubbies and sending water bottles home to be scrubbed and returned. Lori and I also wanted to remind parents to make sure that students have raincoats and boots, as well as a heavy winter coat. We go outside rain or shine, both for recess and outdoor learning. It is important that kids are able to stay dry and warm. You are also welcome to send in gloves and hats that can be kept in cubbies.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we will see you all tomorrow!
Best,
Shannon
